I have been running the same roads on James Island for several years now. Last Sunday, I ran the Cooper River Bridge and really enjoyed the change. I’ve decided that I will pick a 1 mile route somewhere in Charleston each week and post it ahead of each Sunday in this blog and see if anyone would like to join me for my simple 1 mile run and maybe follow some of the functional exercises that have been a great part of my daily routine for health and fitness. I am trying to add a counter to my website, but as of today writing this post, I have ran 1521 consecutive calendar days. Right now, my goal is just to keep running at least a mile everyday forever. My first documented Sunday Fun Run-Day will be 2/4/2024 at Colonial Lake. I haven’t decided a time yet, but it will be around 7am – 8am.
I am hoping it will be fun enough to continue each week.

Sunday Fun Run-Day 1 Mile Location Ranking
Conditions: 8am / 38 °F / 73 %RH / 10mph wind / Mostly Cloudy
Parking: 10 – Plenty of Free Parking just steps away from path.
Path Layout: 9 – Rectangular with plenty of space to pass walkers. Clear straight runs. Curvy sidewalks as options and streets were not active with cars.
Safety: 10 – Plenty of space, no traffic, dogs on leash, and no 1 mile run muggers in site.
Beauty: 9 – Charleston is Beautiful because of places like Colonial Lake
Pedestrian Activity: 8 – There were around 10 people on the whole half mile loop.
Pedestrian Attitude: 8 – A few smiles and good mornings.
